Great Times at the Aiken Fall Festival

Sarasen Jablon and Kingstown

The AMW Stables team traveled to Bruce’s Field in Aiken September 13-17 for the Aiken Fall Festival II, and it was a beautiful week for winning performances and lots of learning.

Our champions included Sarasen Jablon and Kingstown and Caroline Oliverio aboard Motown. Sarasen and “King” took tricolor honors in the Children’s Hunter, 14 and under, section and added the competitive NAL/WIHS Children’s Hunter Classic blue ribbon to the AMW Stables banner. They also earned the reserve championship in the Aiken County Hunters, with a win over fences and other ribbons. Caroline and “Mo” picked up the championship in the Long Stirrup Hunters with first or second in every class. Grace Beall and Straight Shooter also had some great rounds in the Long Stirrup Hunters, picking up the reserve championship with two blues among other ribbons.

McClaine Cobb and HTS Mile High Club put in some great rounds in the Younger Children's Hunters, too, and jumped around the equitation ring for the first time.

The two grays made a great showing in the Adult Hunters. Christine Jablon and Winston continued their top performances in the Adult Amateur Hunters, with ribbons and super rounds in the 36-49 age group. Chelsea Koornick and Truffle competed in the same section, with two seconds over fences among other excellent ribbons.

Hadley Rodwell and Angelica

Hadley Rodwell and Angelica won the 11 and under over fences, placed second on the flat and also claimed second in one of the Small Pony Hunter over fences classes for a rewarding show. Brooke Farfone moved up to the 3’6” equitation classes aboard Knee Deep and took home some excellent ribbons. Likewise, Lulu Hardie piloted Quintender to great equitation ribbons, placing sixth in the Governor’s Cup. The pair also earned a first and second in the Modified Junior/Amateur Hunters and had great rounds in the 3’3” Junior Hunters.

Trainer Annie Walters guided Cassius Del Caribe Z to beautiful rounds in the competitive 3’3” Green Hunters for some nice prizes. The pair placed in every over fences class and took third under saddle.

Over in the jumper rings, ribbons abounded. Esme Melchior and Fernando ES Z jumped their way to a third in the Low Adults and were sixth in the Low Children’s/Adult Jumper Classic. Anders Paulson and Balou De Nous jumped around to some great blue-ribbon rounds, as did Alison Segura and Zydegeaux and Kristin Paulson and Edmontros After Party,
