An Awesome Aiken Summerfest
Aiken Summerfest III was such a wonderful show for AMW Stables. We had beautiful weather from August 22-25, perfect horses and riders who earned some great ribbons at Bruce’s Field in Aiken, South Carolina.
Caroline Oliverio made her debut with new partner Ell Yes and started with a bang! They were champions in the USHJA 2’3” division with a first and second over fences and a second in the under saddle. They also had some great rounds and ribbons in the Low Children’s Hunters at 2’6” for a great start to their partnership.
Sarasen Jablon and Kingstown continued their domination in the Children’s Hunter, 14 and under section. They earned the championship, won the NAL/WIHS Children's Hunter Classic and Sarasen rode to victory in the SCHJA Governors Cup.
Kristin Paulson and Emontros After Party made their move to the hunter ring in perfect style. Kristin rode to a blue in the Low Adult Equitation and jumped to other great ribbons all weekend in the Low Adult Hunters.
Christine Jablon and Winston put down some beautiful trips in the Adult Amateur Hunters, earning top ribbons in a big division, including a sixth in the NAL/WIHS Adult Hunter Classic.
Brooke Farfone and Testify continued to solidify their new partnership. Brooke won the 3'3” USHJA Hunt Seat Medal and was third in the NHS Hamel Medal. In the hunter ring, the pair placed 11th in the USHJA National Hunter Derby and jumped to second in two of their 3'3” Large Junior classes.
Lillian Cain and On Point collected a fourth in the competitive 3'3” USHJA Hunt Seat Medal. They also had beautiful rounds all weekend in the 3’3” Small Junior Hunters, earning a third over fences in addition to other excellent ribbons. Trainer Annie Walters also rode On Point to super rounds in the 3’3” Performance Hunters, earning three second-placed ribbons over fences in a competitive field of 16.
Over in the jumper ring, Don Perignon jumped his best in the .80m and .90m jumpers over the weekend with trainer Annie Walters. He picked up two blue ribbons as he continues to learn the ropes in the show ring.
Esme Melchior and Fernando ES Z had a great weekend in the jumper ring, too. They jumped to a blue ribbon in the .90m on Friday and were third, fourth and fifth in the 1.0m Children’s/Adult Jumpers with many clear rounds!
Special thanks to Equus Events for hosting such a well-run and fun horse show!
